The surprises continued during the semifinals as #1 seed Justin Phan’s team took on #5 seed FantasySportsMatrix. Both teams had been riding winning streaks going into this matchup. FSM took a lead on the back of Maurice Jones-Drew and Pierre Thomas, but Phan came back on the strength of a performance by Philip Rivers and his 4 TD passes. On Monday night, it came down to Phan’s team, who needed 10 points from Devin Hester to win. Alas, Hester only was able to muster 2 catches for 12 yards and FSM moves on to the final round, winning 104.10 to 96.08.
In the other semifinal, Bruno Boys had an easier time in finding victory over Yardbarker by the score of 101.30 to 61.70. The final features upstart FSM, which is riding a seven game winning streak, against #3 seed Bruno Boys for the expert league championship. In the third place game, Justin Phan’s Rotowire faces off against Yardbarker. To see the matchups, please go here.
