About a month ago, we gave you the lowdown on Jacked.com, a browser based sports dashboard which allows you to track multiple sports games at once. We were able to catch up Bryan Biniak, their CEO, and he provided us with an in depth look at the product. When I spoke with him one figure he referenced stood out more than the rest:

During the Super Bowl, 18% of the 97 million viewers went online to look for statistics and media.

That’s great justification for themselves in the marketplace. Today’s sports fan is more technically apt than ever and products such as the Jacked Sportstop really allow fans to give you what the broadcast (announcers included) can’t. There’s plenty left to be desired within today’s sportscast.

FS20: The Jacked SportsTop seems sports-fan inspired. Is there a specific story or experience that’s tied to the creation of the SportsTop? If so we’d love to hear about it.

Jacked: As users, we were frustrated with the lack of control. As the rest of the Internet was moving to 2.0 and offering greater customization by contribution from the community, the sports two-screen experience remained a vanilla “one size fits all” experience. Meanwhile, users were creating their own makeshift opportunities. During national Lakers broadcasts, fans would turn the sound down on the TV and turn it up on Chick Hearn’s radio broadcast. Traditional sports outlets, often content creators, typically made only their content available on gamecasts. Wanting more, fans often had to manually aggregate disparate content. This manual process quickly became a distraction from the game, rather than an enhancement. We figured, if we could automate the process, we would be free to enjoy the two-screen rather than be a slave to it.

FS20: What are the SportsTop’s advantages over other “live” scoreboards provided by the likes of ESPN, Yahoo, etc.?

Jacked: Jacked.com offers fans a personalized gamecast that they can tailor to suit their preferences for content as well as the ability to narrow their selections to the specific game they are most interested in. With Jacked they can also watch multiple games from multiple leagues all through a single browser.

FS20: Are there any plans to integrate fantasy player tracking tools into the Jacked SportsTop?

Jacked: Yes however, we are not ready to share the details.

I’m definitely looking forward to the fantasy player tracking tools or whatever variation that Jacked has planned. Every legitimate fantasy football player has their computer in front of them on Sunday afternoons while watching games. Between clicking the remote and clicking the mouse I think I’m on an accelerated path for carpal tunnel syndrome. Using the Jacked Sportstop would alleviate this problem and allow me to concentrate on my fanasy scouting tasks at hand!
