NBC Sports has gone mobile. In a sign of the times, the mobile component of the media giant’s sports site has announced a partnership with Crisp Wireless. The partnership will likely allow NBC Sports-Mobile to offer consumers fantasy news, including, “real-time scores, player statistics for games and seasons, and exclusive fantasy advice, player news, and injury reports.” This, according to a press release on Earth Times. The fantasy sports covered include: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA football and basketball, NASCAR, golf, and tennis. NBC Sports has even partnered with Rotoworld to provide fantasy news and analysis.

According to Perkins Miller, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, NBC Sports & Olympics:

“NBC Sports Mobile wanted to develop a mobile website that targeted both casual sports fans and the fantasy sports enthusiasts. Crisp Wireless was able to create an easy-to-use interface that all users could enjoy, while also integrating the complex data feeds to provide the statistics that fantasy sports players require.”

It’ll be interesting to see what it actually looks like when it’s released. Currently, 34.6 million cell phone users have mobile web capability, or about 17 percent of the 206 million total US users according to the June 2006 Telephia study.
