As I peruse through my daily sports headlines I find a shocker, Dan Patrick to leave ESPN. With all of today’s crooked sports personalities, reporters, and journalists it was always good to know that when you heard Dan Patrick you knew it was going to be something good.
I remeber the best SportsCenter duo of all time, Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick. Today’s anchors should watch some throwback video as a guide to how the job should really be done.
When Patrick moved on to do his radio show for ESPN, it was like none other. He’s very well respected in the circle of sports stars and was always able to interview the top athletes and ask the tough questions.
More recently, we’ll never forget NBA commish David Stern going into verbal fisticuffs on Patrick’s radio show when irked by comments that the Suns-Spurs series was to be decided on the Horry-Nash shove and ensuing suspensions.
Whatever new endeavor it is, I hope it’s sports related. Hopefully he doesn’t pull an Olbermann and go to cable news. Chances are you won’t be reading this Dan… but if you are, best of luck!

1Olbermann and Patrick are among the elite and probably couldn’t resist the big $$$ offered.
