NFL bad boys, beware. Commissioner Roger Goodell is taking a get-tough stance on off-the-field behavior, as exemplified by the one-year suspension of Tennessee Titan Adam “Pacman” Jones and Cincinnati Bengal Chris Henry’s 8 game suspension. Jones was involved in a fight and shooting outside a Las Vegas strip club in February. Henry was arrested 4 times in a fourteen month span, including contributing to the delinquency of minors by letting underage kids drink in his hotel.
The teeth in the enforcement is being placed on teams, who can face losing draft picks if they do not keep their players in line. Players will continue to be fined as well. We will see how the new policy will keep players and teams in line both on and off the field.
